Canaan is officially in a twin bed. He and Judah now have matching twin beds in their bedroom-- just like Bert and Ernie. We bought Canaan a comforter that has cars and trucks on it, and some Disney/Pixar Cars sheets. He is beyond thrilled about it. Every time we go into his room, he proudly proclaims: "Mom, look at my big bed! LOOK, Mom!"
They also have big boy haircuts. It felt a little like Sampson to me, when we cut them. There was lots of mojo in those little mop-tops. But, so long surfer boys! Summer has arrived and it's going to be a hot one. Kevin took out the clippers, set them to the longest possible blade (an 8), and sheared off their beautiful corn silk hair. And though it was my idea, I looked on nervously, biting my nails, and mourning the loss of their signature hairstyle. But, alas. Now that it's done, I have to admit... they look pretty cute. Not to mention (sigh) pretty big.
Speaking of big... Judah is reading. He can read about 20 words, now:
Mommy Daddy Judah
Canaan Annie cat
dog stop go
red blue yellow
I you me
yes no play
at and
We find them in stories when we read now, too. I am giving him about 5 a week, and once he gets comfortable with them I add a few more. Crazy big.
