Two Canaans
Canaan has turned into quite the chatter box. He talks incessantly, parroting everything he hears. He gets a lot of things right, but one thing in particular, he is very stubborn about-- his big brother's name. If we play round robin at the dinner table, we can point to each member of the family, and say, "Canaan, who's this?" He will answer appropriately for Mommy, Daddy, and himself. If you throw Gaga, Papa, Nani, Paw, Will, Aunt Nat, whomever... into the mix? Fine, no problem- he'll name them all. EXCEPT Judah. When we point to Judah to ask Canaan, "Who's this?" He answers, with utmost confidence and articulation, "Canaan." We correct him 40 times a day, but he stubbornly thinks that Judah and he share the same name. Or are the same person. When Judah is crying, Canaan looks at me and says, "Canaan's crying." If Judah tackles him, or otherwise hurts his feelings, or whatever, Canaan points at Judah and says, "Canaan oww-ee." We can get him to repeat "Judah" but not to use it. LOL. I know they look alike and all, but geez. Even Canaan thinks they're the same person!
