So, before the service began, we were all sitting around the tables chatting. I had Judah show a friend of our his Bible verse. He began to recite Deuteronomy 6:5, and then realized that he had the attention of everyone in the room (about 30 people). He paused in his recitation, and I was prompting him to continue. He ignored me and looked at the crowd and said, "Ladies and gentlemen!" My mouth dropped open and everyone burst out laughing in disbelief. Then he (enjoying all this attention immensely) said, "Let's pray." And he bowed his head. What?! I mean, seriously?! Who IS this kid? While we were praying during the service, if anyone spoke too long, Judah cut them off with and enthusiastic "AMEN!" I whispered to him many a time that it was not polite to speak while people were praying. So then if there was ever a pause, or if people were praying silently, he said, "Amen! We can talk." Judah's stand up routine
Tonight Redeemer had a prayer service, and at the last second today, the place we were going to have it fell through. So, a wonderful lady at our church offered us the use of her tea room in Tomball. Gratefully, we seized it! The only problem was that there really wasn't a place for childcare. So my little guys came along. I was armed with snacks of course, plus a toy car, and the children's folder--coloring pages, stickers, and pipe-cleaners. Judah and Canaan did very well, actually. Sort of noisy, and once we nearly had a meltdown, but really-- 45 minutes of quiet activity for a 2 year old and a 10 month old past their bedtime? They did pretty great.
