Oh, my little boy is getting so big. Judah is 3 and 1/2. The other night, Kevin and I decided to have a movie night with Judah, since he is old enough to appreciate such a special treat. We put Canaan to bed, and then made a big pallet on the floor in the living room. Judah was so excited (understatement) to be able to stay up with Mommy and Daddy for a special movie night. He helped me make the floor bed by putting the pillows down and determining where we were all to lay. We popped pop-corn (which Judah insisted on watching through the microwave door-- oh, and making certain that I ALSO was watching), and settled in for a screening of the Disney Movie, The Emperor's New Groove. Judah picked it-- he had never seen it before. We started it just after 8:00. Kevin fell asleep by about 8:20. I think I made it to 8:45. Judah watched the whole thing, easily outlasting his parents.
Kevin has promised to take Judah to see the Monster Trucks when they come to town in early February. His anticipation is palpable. Yesterday, Kevin got out his lap top and pulled up youtube videos of "Gravedigger" doing all sorts of death defying feats. Judah's eyes were like silver dollars, as he wondered aloud, "I have that truck... It's REAL." Ahhh, yes. We have a few monster trucks, and he does have a little "Gravedigger" one. Now though, he won't play with any of his Disney/Pixar cars. They aren't "real." He outGREW them!! He told me he only wants to play with his COOL cars. Which are, apparently, his 99 cent matchbox cars, since they don't have faces and are therefore, real.
