Updating...ing.

Canaan is a little chatterbox, and he absolutely loves to be involved in the conversation. So, he will begin one by saying, "Mommy?" My response: "Yes, Canaan?" Canaan: "Hi. We're driving-ing." He adds an extra "ing" to every "ing" word. Common examples: "We're watching-ing. I'm eating-ing. We're playing-ing." The only one that doesn't seem to get an added "ing" is "walking." Instead that one always gets the qualifying "today." As in, "We're walking today." Who knows why?

Judah has broadened his vocabulary and theological knowledge by memorizing the entire "Behold the Lamb" soundtrack by Andrew Peterson. With a few minor interpretation mishaps, it's still mighty impressive. We quizzed him the other day and asked him who Israel's first king was. He answered "Saul." Yep. So we asked who came after Saul, and he said, after a moment of thought, "David." Then he sang, "He was a king on a throne, full of power with a sword in his fist, has there ever been, has there ever been a king like this? Full of wisdom, full of strength, the hearts of the people are his..." yeah... Then, a heartbeat later, he said, "Mommy? Do you believe in magic?" Me: "Sure, buddy." Judah : "...In a young girl's heart?" So, he also is memorizing the Lovin' Spoonful's greatest hits. Good taste.
